This fact-based fire safety educational tool is a highly effective way to educate students as well as the general public showing how normal, everyday combustible material found in every dorm room can cause a major fire, injury, or death. More importantly, itshows how a quick-response fire detection and sprinkler system can greatly reduce such danger. With this demonstration, your focus will be to educate your audience on:

The Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition has a demonstration kit that will guide you through a step-by-step process on how to build your dorm room burn demo unit, and will bring you all the way through the clean-up process following your presentation.  While it was not designed specifically for a campus or university it is helpful and contains what you need to know.

It will show you how to conduct your demonstration to reach-out to your audience most effectively.  Also included are suggestions for gaining sponsors to seek financial contributions for a cost-effective demonstration and ideas for sponsor recognition to show your appreciation.
